Contractor Oversized Vehicle Permit Application


Online application may be used for apply for up to (10) permits at a time. For more than (10) permits, please submit multiple applications, or, request a pdf or paper application by emailing ParkingPermits@SantaBarbaraCA.gov


1. Complete the online application

2. Upload a copy of your valid City of Santa Barbara Business License.

3. Upload a copy of the current California Vehicle Registration for each vehicle for which you are seeking a permit. Vehicles MUST be registered as commercial.

4. Permit fees are $100 for your first permit and $50 for each subsequent permit associated with your business. You may pay online, or, mail a check for fees to Downtown Parking. Applications will not be processed until fees have been paid.

5. You may also apply in person at the Downtown Parking Office:

8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday-Thursday and alternate Fridays

Permits will not be issued to individuals who fail to submit all required application materials or who fail to meet eligibility requirements.

IMPORTANT: Contractors Permits are subject to the restrictions established in SBMC 10.46.220, the adopted Rules & Regulations, and the Contractors Oversized Vehicle Permit Conditions (enclosed). Permitted vehicles are prohibited from parking on-street between the hours of 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM the following day, and from parking at any time in a location that creates or exacerbates a dangerous traffic safety condition. Violation of any provision of SBMC 10.46.220, the Rules & Regulations, or the Permit Conditions is cause for revocation of your Oversized Vehicle Contractors Permit(s).
