Contractor Oversized Permit Application

Use of a Contractors Oversized Vehicle Parking Permit is subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. The permit must be displayed in the lower corner of the front windshield, on the driver’s side. Permit must not cover any portion of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

2. This permit allows the permit holder to park the permitted vehicle in the public right-of-way between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Parking the permitted vehicle in the public right-of-way is prohibited between 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM, unless the vehicle is necessary and in active use for work needed to control and repair an emergency situation that poses an immediate threat to public health and safety. Under such circumstances, the permitted vehicle must bear a clearly visible notice in the driver’s side window that identifies the emergency location by address and unit number, if applicable, and includes contact information that would allow City safety or enforcement personnel to contact the vehicle operator immediately.

3. This permit does not guarantee parking availability.

4. All other parking restrictions apply, including the City-wide 72-hour parking limit, street sweeping, timed parking, green/yellow/white/red zones, and resident permit parking requirements.

5. The permitted vehicle will at no time be parked unattended in any location that creates or exacerbates a dangerous traffic safety condition. The vehicle must not block a traffic lane, block critical sight lines for driveways, alleyways, or side streets, or block the visibility of a traffic control device to drivers, pedestrians, or cyclists. Parked oversized vehicle must leave at least ten (10) feet of travel room in the adjacent travel lane. Some streets may not be able to accommodate oversized vehicles due to street width or driveway frequency.
